In the early part of the century Los Angeles had a severe Smog Problem, and whilst it still does not posses the cleanest air in the states it has risen from the bottom of the ladder, but the Los Angeles basin is notorious as a collecting point for haze, some of this is quite natural, and was probably there before the city; however you can always find a clearer atmosphere down at the beaches.
There are guided tours in abundance which will take in the following places to visit, if you do not want to do them on your own.
Walk along Hollywood boulevard to see the show biz names on bronze stars embedded in the pavement.
Go to Griffith Park Observatory where you will get a panoramic view of the entire city and a close up look of the Hollywood Sign.
Beverly Hills Is and experience to be savored, explore the well groomed streets, the shopping is excellent, and not all prices are in the extreme, Wilshire boulevard has four major Department stores, and Century City is easier on the pocket than Rodeo Drive
Hollywood Boulevard turns residential to the west passing the homes of the Stars in Beverley Hills.
Cruise Sunset boulevard known as The Strip.Of course in the Summer Months many fine concerts and musical events are presented at the world famous Hollywood Bowl
Longbeach - where the Queen Mary has become a floating hotel in the harbor, and you can visit an excellent aquarium, or take romantic Venetian gondola ride on Naples Island.
This city by the sea has over 5 miles of beautiful sandy beaches, it is conveniently placed, and there is plenty to do, including kayaking snorkelling and parasailing.
